SD Card Recorders as an Addition to Network Recording
Cameras with a built-in SD card recorder can also be operated as a stand-alone unit, a permanent connection to a network is not required. Contrary to mere network recording, the images are stored locally on the camera. This minimises the cabling effort required and allows for flexible surveillance applications, e.g. monitoring construction sites or temporary applications. A continuous data transmission in the network is not required either. Thus, an existing network system is only used during the analysis of recordings.
For the analysis, e.g. connect a notebook via the network connection or remove the SD card and read it out externally.
